With Halloween right around the corner we wanted to hunt out some haunted mixes for y’all this week! Our plan initially failed and our digging only seemed to lead us into the world of damaging death-step and darthvader gabber trance… actually quite scary! Finally we found ourselves upon Chuck B’s soundcloud page where he has posted a fresh halloween mix for us to feast on! We came across this one last minute but upon a quick listen, it sounds sick & twisted… the way any halloween mix should be! ‘Funk Against Facism’ is a forthcoming compilation on Cultmusic and Totalcult has assembled a promo mix for this very special release.
‘Funk Against Fascism’ is a charity compilation raising money for ‘Love Music, Hate Racism’. Artists from Birmingham to Brazil have come together to create an eclectic album representing the broad spectrum of breakbeat sounds, from chilled out funky hip-hop to fierce, bassline-driven acid. Every penny of the artists’ and label’s royalties will go directly to the charity, which supports anti-racist and anti-fascist activity and rund campaigns urging people to vote against fascist candidates in elections. No other charity celebrates cultural differences like ‘Love Music, Hate Racism’ and no other music genre revels in sonic diversity more than the breaks scene. It’s a match made in heaven!
We love the tunes on this release and it features many of our friends from around the globe such as Super Combo Funk (Funk the System), Badboe, Timothy Wisdom, & DJ Soo! Good music to support a good cause, kind of a no brainer!
