We are road this week in week 2 of our “Harvest Tour” – with 12 gigs over the next 16 days! – so we’re writing this dig from the car with yet another long drive ahead of us before tonight’s gig. An obvious essential for long drives are solid mixtapes and this week we have 3 extremely dope mixes to share with you!
Our featured mix this week is a fresh 30 minute promo mix from Parker! His new mix really takes a step forward which isn’t unexpected for Parker. From his collaborations with Boca 45 as ‘The Beekeepers’ or his recent remix on Jack to Phono Records , diverse styles and solid production are 2 things we’ve come to expect from Pete. ‘Behind The Bookcase’ features a wide selection of tasteful tunes from outside the Ghetto Funk market exploring glitchy sounds and will surely appeal to you bass heads who like it soulful!

Neon Steve is up next on the dig with his new Opposites Attract Podcast for Dub Selectka. Neon Steve has been on fire in recent months and this new mix is already an instant favourite for many. Steve warns us in the description that this is not a promo mix and we are glad its not! Instead, this is an hour of beautifully mixed nusoul & trip-hip-hop that travels into future bass & house music. He’s even mashed up Canadian rock icons, The Tragically Hip… that must be a first! We’ve been waiting for a new mix from Neon Steve since Do Not Bleach 2.5, so a tip of the ol’ hat goes out to our bright coloured friend on this one!

To close out this week dig we have a very cool mix from Ben Jay. Coming to us all the way from Thailand, Ben’s new mix took us on trip through the Kootenay Mountain pass yesterday in style! This is a very enjoyable mix but we encourage you to give it a listen on a nice long drive or maybe during an early morning sunrise. The mid tempo disco & house vibes felt throughout put out some seriously funky vibes while getting quite deep at parts with rising buildups that can last for several kilometres
