Hey all, hope you are ready for a BIG mixtape because this week It’s one of my favourite artists (and probably one of yours too!) I had the pleasure of meeting him at sunrise festival and he’s an absolute dude! He’s had releases on Ghetto Funk and on Scour records, drops free tracks on us like he makes em in his sleep and has played more festivals this year than I have probably been to in my life (unless you count irish folk festivals.. WE DIDN’T HAVE A CHOICE AS CHILDREN OK!) I am stoked to share a few words with you that passed between us earler, read on for a little interview with FATHER FUNK
SAMMY:You have played more festivals than anyone I know this year, which ones have been your favourite?
FF: I loved every festival I played at this year but my favourite had to be Sunrise Festival – such a wicked vibe and a great line up. Especially enjoyed opening the Ghetto Funk Nightclub with the Scour Records crew on the Thursday night!
SAMMY: Yes me too! (ok it was the only one I went to but STILL!)
It’s great to see you diversifying, i’m a big fan of your hip-hop tunes too. Can you tell us a bit about your side-project Stylus?
FF: Thanks man! Stylus is something I just started this year, I’ve always been into hip hop but most of the hip hop thats been released in the last decade or so just hasn’t done it for me. Stylus is my attempt at bringing back that old school flavour. I’ll be releasing my first Stylus EP for free in the next couple of weeks.

SAMMY: And what’s next for Father Funk? any releases coming up soon?
FF: Well I’ve been making a ton of music this summer, so expect plenty of free downloads in the next few months. As far as releases go, I’ve got a couple of remixes coming out soon, and I’m also working on an original EP which is a really fun project.
SAMMY: Awesomeness! Can’t wait to hear em, your tunes are always top shelf!
And lastly, The mid-tempo breaks scene is starting to grow larger and there are a lot of new producers and DJ’s on the scene.. got any words of wisdom for those that are just starting out?
FF: Be yourself! And keep it funky
