We’re back for our fourth super funked out sea safari. Maritime shenanigans await when we set sail into the sunset to shake our golden booties and bask in the warm afterglow of summer.

This year’s theme is GOLD. Think… Gold shoes, grillz, fat chains, gold lamé, glitter, glo-mesh and of course Solid Gold dancers. Get your bling on and shine for a good cause people, the kids of Cambodia need you to have a funkin’ good time!

We’re mixing up the music a little this year with old school tunes upstairs and new school sounds downstairs for the folks who like to get their disco on.

Headlining the top deck is KARATE BOOGALOO (Live), a side project of some key members from the critically acclaimed Melbourne band The Cactus Channel. They promise to carve up the room with some deep Shaolin style funk combined with local dancefloor knowledge. They’ll be ably supported by soul brother VINCE PEACH (PBS) and funk brother CHRIS GILL (RRR, Northside Records). We also have a special guest, DJ FRENZIE from Sydney. He has supported the likes of Mixmaster Mike, The Scratch Perverts, Crazy P, Norman Jay, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Soul II Soul, Fred Wesley, Gil Scott Heron and most recently Nile Rodgers & Chic. Expect an awesome mix of funk, soul, disco and party jams… Get on up people!

Then get on down to the lower deck where we’ll be baking a layer cake of funky party tunes. Ingredients: a dash of Ghetto Funk, a sprinkling of nu-funk and a handful of dirty disco served hot with a good helping of funky breaks. The dancefloor will be jumping and the beats will be bumping with DJ AYNA, CUZN MATT and an epic DJ vs. SAX battle between THE SOUL CITY SOUNDSYSTEM and TOM SHOWTIME…

All funds raised at this golden charity funk-tion will be donated to The Happy School and Happy Football Cambodia programs.
